However, it’s hard to have much sympathy for him as he intentionally makes blunders and seems oblivious to the others’ pain. The book is well paced, and Cheng writes insightfully about mental health issues, alcoholism, and her characters’ struggles with moral dilemmas. Enthralling and absorbing.
