Rather than separating magic and technology, the novel entwines them into a single evolving system of power. Virtual worlds, encrypted communication, and psychic networks coexist naturally alongside ancient portals and time-crossing rituals. The morally elusive Galfride introduces tension and unpredictability to nearly every scene, while Kay and her children provide emotional coherence amid the novel’s layered mythology. Lovers of ambitious speculative fantasy threaded with occult mystery and technological unease should take note.
