In the introductory few pages, Cotroneo talks about his own self-doubts, lack of confidence, fears, and trepidations. However, his tone is optimistic and stays the same throughout the collection. \u201cLet it Die\u201d is about moving on whereas \u201cNo Storms Anymore\u201d is about a life lived, loved, and lost. In \u201cThe Duality of Man,\u201d Cotroneo urges readers to make a choice between two paths life often offers at every step of the way and stand by it. Gloom and darkness abound in \u201cFalling\u201d. \u201cFamily Ties\u201d is a meditation on family bonds. \u201cThe Pride\u201d documents a lust for life. \u201cIn Everything I Never Knew\u201d explores the concept of getting over one\u2019s fears and anxieties and try something new. Cotroneo ends the collection on a positive note with the uplifting and encouraging final chapter. Cotroneo\u2019s prose, though lacks the panache of a veteran writer is simple and accessible. With a frequently unassuming tone, the collection combines the longing of love and life and offers a slice of the author\u2019s own life experiences, including the moments of joy, despair, restlessness, darkness, and enlightenment.
