A good beach read…<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s been nine years since Drew Baker left her billionaire husband and the toxic relationship she shared with him. Continuously on the run with her ten-year-old son, Drew moves to a small town to find answers to her questions only to get entangled into a new relationship and becomes friends with a local mom despite her wariness of strangers. As things start to look good, a nightmarish incident forces Drew to revisit her past memories and face her husband. The narrative shifts between past and present and is told through multiple perspectives and Drew\u2019s past recollections. The suspense is modest and the surprises quite a few, but they\u2019re a bit on the unbelievable side. The plot is full of implausible story elements, but it keeps readers thoroughly invested. The premise is stale with age-old formula, but Winchester\u2019s prose is engrossing and keeps the reader glued to the book. A typical suspense thriller that seems like a sure bet to pick for a plane journey.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
