The first poem \u201cNext Door Terrorist\u201d in the collection sets the general tone for the collection with its central theme of discrimination based on skin color. \u201c1 Couch 1 Bath\u201d talks about the despair of an unemployed protagonist In \u201cChoice\u201d it\u2019s heartening to see the teen protagonist making a right choice in the end. Carmona\u2019s words are mostly drawn from his personal experience and ring true in today\u2019s context. His take on substance abuse, violence, and discrimination based on creed and color is brutally honest and sentimental without any trace of melodrama.<\/p>\n
