Suzy and Ricardo’s relationship, though exactly not fraught with tension keeps the spice factor up in the story. Canzano skillfully blends the interesting futuristic and space elements with intrigue and tension of a fine crime noir and mixes Suzy’s exhilarating excursions with the ups and downs of her attempts at normal with skill and ease. Suzy with her spunkiness and faults is a heroine to root for. Canzano’s prose is crisp, the dialogue witty and sharp, and the final showdown in space makes the reader immediately wish for more. This is a must-read.
