Absorbing and unexpected…
Schreiber’s latest new adult romance is full of captivating dialogue, troubled characters, and steamy sex scenes. Vivian Grimes is living the artist dream in the vibrant NYC: her paintings sell fast, she has her own apartment, and there are two men in her life—brash and handsome Damien Doyle and the sweet, irresistible Eddie Scozzari. But when something unexpected happens, Viv knows she must find her way to the one she truly loves. Schreiber does an excellent job of revealing the subtle differences between healthy sexual appetite and hypersexuality, and the sex-scenes are both kinky and tender. Viv’s quirkiness and inherent brazenness add extra spark, and Schreiber folds in plenty of art descriptions and human drama. In addition to Viv’s personal struggle with her bad-girl persona, the novel also deftly explores relevant themes of guilt, self-doubt, identity, and love. The conclusion leaves some loose ends, but the chemistry between the characters and startling twists throughout make for a satisfying read.
