Plan to kill by Carolyn Hamilton

Deeply felt… An astutely executed mystery.

Hamilton centers her brilliant mystery on the universal, hot topic of women’s right to abortion. The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe. vs. Wade. With their own personal history with abortion experience, the news hit the friends Trinity, Susan, Ali, Marion, accomplished professionals in their specific fields, hard. When a devastating news turns Trinity’s world upside down, she knows she must assassinate the President to make a statement about the Supreme Court’s decision. While all the characters, including major and minor, have their own individual struggles, it is Trinity’s inner turmoil and simmering rage that drive the narrative. Driven by Trinity’s excursions in the White House, Hamilton’s narrative keep readers guessing until the end. The plausible resolution is both shocking and satisfying. Women’s right to abortion makes the heart of the story, but Hamilton also explores friendship, marriage, trust, betrayal, and class and race disparity. This darkly vibrant mystery with its psychologically sophisticated plot and motivations makes for a page-turner.
