Skybound Desires: A Flight Attendant’s Diary by Lexy Laff

A raunchy, rollicking ride through the not-so-friendly skies.

Laff takes readers behind the curtain of commercial aviation in this sexually explicit, globe-trotting romance. Lexy Laff has traded a dead-end Midwestern diner for a flight attendant’s uniform and a passport full of stamps. Between demanding passengers and punishing schedules, she pursues pleasure wherever she lands, from Parisian hotel rooms to Miami beaches. But casual encounters offer little protection against old heartbreak, especially when her dependable galley partner, Todd, begins to complicate her carefully unattached existence.

Laff has a knack for capturing the ridiculous side of air travel. A fashion designer stranded by a blizzard and fretting over his Pomeranian provides welcome comic relief, while a medical emergency aboard a Tokyo-bound flight gives Lexy an opportunity to demonstrate genuine professional mettle. The sex scenes are plentiful and graphic. More compelling, however, is her uneasy relationship with Todd, whose familiarity with her less glamorous self gives their exchanges a charge missing from her encounters with wealthy strangers. The prose occasionally overplays its hand, but Lexy’s tart observations keep things moving. A bawdy, fast-paced romp with an unexpectedly tender streak.
